Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli affirmed on Tuesday the government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading international companies, particularly in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

He also underscored the state’s strong focus on expanding clean energy projects as part of Egypt’s strategy to transition toward a more sustainable economy and increase reliance on renewable energy sources.

These remarks came during a meeting the premier called with Mr Mohamed Amer, Executive Vice President of the Norwegian company Scatec for the Middle East and North Africa region.

The meeting aimed to follow up on the implementation status of the company’s projects in Egypt and explore opportunities for expanding its investments across several sectors.

Eng Randa el-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Eng Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing for the Utilities Sector, took part in the meeting.

According to Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Homosani, discussions focused on the progress of Scatec’s ongoing projects in the renewable energy sector and electricity storage systems.

The meeting further reviewed the company’s future expansion plans in these fields, including potential co-operation in green hydrogen production.

In addition, participants examined opportunities for implementing infrastructure projects and seawater desalination initiatives, in line with Egypt’s efforts to maximise its capabilities and resources across multiple development sectors.

The discussions highlighted Egypt’s continued commitment to attracting strategic investments and supporting projects that contribute to sustainable development and the diversification of the country’s energy sources.
