President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated Egypt’s steadfast commitment to supporting Sudan’s stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasising the enduring strategic and fraternal ties binding the two nations.
This came during President Sisi’s meeting on Thursday with the Prime Minister of Sudan Kamil Idris, in the presence of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, along with official delegations from both countries.
The president welcomed the Sudanese prime minister, highlighting the deep-rooted historical ties and strategic partnership that unite Egypt and Sudan.
He commended the convening of the High Coordination Committee on Water Issues, co-chaired by the two prime ministers, describing it as an essential framework for aligning positions and safeguarding the shared interests and water rights of the two brotherly peoples, said the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy.
He also underscored Egypt’s active engagement at regional and international levels to contribute to ending the conflict and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people.
The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, reiterating the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the two countries on all issues of mutual interest.
For his part, Prime Minister Idris expressed sincere appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated Sudan’s gratitude for Egypt’s ongoing support across multiple sectors.
The meeting concluded with a mutual emphasis on the importance of continued coordination, consultation, and strategic cooperation between the two countries in all issues of mutual concern.
