CAIRO- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty underlined on Sunday the importance of the full implementation of the agreement to end war in Gaza, the start of early recovery and reconstruction steps and the delivery of humanitarian aid in quantities that meet the needs of the Gaza Strip.
The top diplomat gave the remarks during a meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger.
Abdelatty expressed hope of an effective Austrian participation in the international conference on early recovery, reconstruction and development in Gaza that Cairo will host this month.
He expressed Egypt’s hope to continue joint work to strengthen bilateral relations and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, under the political consultation mechanism signed during Meinl-Reisinger’s visit to Cairo in June.
He also reiterated Egypt’s keenness on enhancing cooperation in economic, trade and investment fields through activating the joint committee and encouraging Austrian investments, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
He expressed interest in boosting cooperation with the Austrian side in the domains of academic, cultural and tourism exchange, renewable energy and counter-terrorism.
