Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah el Din Mostafa affirmed the ministry’s interest in increasing rates of deepening local manufacturing and establishing partnerships with various national and international institutions and entities to transfer most up-to-date military and civilian manufacturing technologies into production lines of various entities affiliated with the ministry.

The minister gave the remarks during a meeting Thursday with chairmen of boards of directors of affiliated companies and units, as well as a number of advisers and heads of sectors at the ministry and the National Authority for Military Production (NAMP) at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the government district of the New Administrative Capital.

The minister said all efforts are meant to maintain status of military production as a fundamental pillar of military manufacturing in Egypt and a key industrial arm of the country in the field of civilian manufacturing, through taking advantage of surplus production capacities.

The goal within the coming period is to continue efforts to raise the status of military production and achieve more successes that benefit the nation and citizens, he added.

The meeting aimed to follow up on the implementation status of all projects being implemented by the affiliated companies and complete discussions on future plans developed for each company and affiliated unit. It also aims to review the means to achieve all set goals in terms of activity revenues, total production, net sales, total production inventory, number of employees, wages, raw materials and materials, a summary of the revenue and expenditure account, and activity indicators, especially with the approaching end of the fiscal year.

Mostafa directed any obstacles that might arise in the manufacturing process be removed at the nearest possible time.

On the sidelines of the meeting, he also pointed to current challenges facing the world, starting with the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and extending to the current situation in the entire region.

According to the minister, these challenges have directly impacted supply chains required for project implementation in a number of countries around the world.

Mostafa further called for concerted efforts to strengthen national economy by supporting localization of modern technologies in various national industries, increasing reliance on local nuts and bolts of industry, and reducing the import bill with a view to saving foreign currency.

He underscored the need to work on developing production lines within companies, raising performance levels and constantly striving to invest in human capital.

The minister also referred to the important role played by military production ministry personnel in advancing the ministry and its affiliated entities.

Meantime, he called on the various sectors within the ministry and the NAMP to continue supporting affiliated entities and monitoring the progress of the production process, along with working to increase their capacity and provide them with the latest technologies.
