Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli affirmed that the housing project in the Al Ajizi area in Tanta reflects the state’s keenness to improve citizens’ quality of life and to transform shanty area into organised urban communities that provide decent and safe housing for Egyptian families.

He added that this urban transformation is part of a comprehensive vision to develop infrastructure and essential services in the hearts of major cities.

The premier’s statement came during a tour of Gharbiya governorate on Thursday as he inspected a low-income housing project in the Al Ajizi area of Tanta.

Madbouli was accompanied by Minister of Local Development Manal Awad, Governor of Gharbiya Ashraf el Gendy, Deputy Governor Mahmoud Issa, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund Khaled Siddiq along with a number of executive leaders from the governorate.

Madbouli listened to a briefing on the project from Siddiq, who explained that the project has been fully completed as part of the Urban Development Fund’s plan to develop unplanned areas in Gharbiya.

He noted that the Al Ajizi housing project consists of 6 buildings overseen by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, within the framework of the national project to develop city capitals, which aims to establish 500,000 housing units across the country.

Siddiq highlighted that the project includes six residential buildings comprising 480 units, built over an area of 2.3 feddans. Each building consists of a ground floor and nine upper floors. The project also includes the construction of a mosque and two outlets for selling essential goods, ensuring a comprehensive residential environment for citizens, especially low-income families.

After that, Madbouli and his accompanying delegation inspected one of the housing units from inside as he praised the execution quality, emphasizing that the project represents a successful model of what state-sponsored low-income housing projects should be like in terms of urban design, integrated services and prime location.
