CAIRO — Pyramids FC moved one point clear at the top of the Egyptian Premier League with a win in the ninth round of the 2024-2025 season, while Al-Ahly drew and Zamalek lost.

At Cairo International Stadium, Pyramids FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over ZED FC.
The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Congolese forward Fiston Mayele found the back of the net.
Defender Mohamed el-Chibi delivered an accurate free-kick cross, which Ali Gabr headed into the penalty area. Mayele seized the chance with a superb strike to seal the win.
With this result, Pyramids FC climbed to the top of the league standings with 20 points from nine matches, while ZED FC dropped to eighth place, remaining on 13 points from nine games.

At Borg el-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Al-Ahly and Pharco FC played to a 1-1 draw, dropping two vital points in the title race.
Pharco’s Zouhair El-Moutaraji opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a powerful shot past Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed el-Shenawy. El-Shenawy made a crucial save in the 28th minute to deny Pharco a second goal.
Al-Ahly dominated possession but struggled to create effective chances. In the 41st minute, Yasser Ibrahim’s weak header was easily saved by Pharco’s Mohamed Shika.

The match shifted in the 52nd minute when VAR identified a foul by Pharco’s Jefferson Encada on Omar Kamal. Referee Mohamed Marouf awarded a penalty, and Emam Ashour converted it in the 56th minute to equalize.
The draw saw Al-Ahly drop to second place with 19 points, marking their eighth dropped point of the season, while Pharco moved up to 10th with 11 points.
At Cairo International Stadium, Modern Sport pulled off a stunning upset, defeating Zamalek 1-0 in a tightly contested clash.

This marked Modern Sport’s first win of the season, following four losses and four draws.
The only goal of the match came in the 88th minute, when Cameroonian forward Jonathan Ngoyem fired a powerful shot past Zamalek’s goalkeeper Mohamed Awad, securing a historic win.
With this result, Zamalek dropped to third place in the league standings with 17 points from nine matches. In contrast, Modern Sport moved to 17th place with seven points from nine matches.

Petrojet triumphed 2-1 over Al-Masry at the New Suez Stadium, leading 2-0 at halftime.
With the win, Petrojet climbed to seventh with 13 points, while Al-Masry stayed in fifth place with 15 points.
Al-Ittihad and Ceramica Cleopatra played to a 1-1 draw at the Arab Contractors Stadium.

Despite Ceramica’s dominance, Al-Ittihad’s defensive approach earned them a point. Ceramica moved to fourth with 16 points, while Al-Ittihad rose to 12th with 10 points.
At El-Gouna Stadium, NBE Club defeated El-Gouna 2-1, with Yaw Annor scoring the decisive goal.
NBE Club moved to sixth with 14 points, while El-Gouna remained in 18th with 6 points.

Haras el-Hodood claimed a 1-0 win over Ghazl el-Mahalla at El-Mahalla Stadium, with an own goal by Amr el-Gazzar in the 82nd minute.
Haras el-Hodood climbed to 13th with 9 points, while Ghazl el-Mahalla stayed 14th with 8 points.
At Cairo’s PetroSport Stadium, Talae el-Geish won 1-0 against Enppi, with Mohamed Fathallah ‘Kamtcho’ scoring in the 61st minute.

Talae el-Geish moved to 11th with 11 points, while Enppi remained in 16th with 7 points.
Ismaili defeated Smouha 1-0 at Ismailia Stadium, with Khaled Al-Nabris scoring the winning goal in the 67th minute.
Ismaili rose to 9th with 12 points, while Smouha stayed 15th with 8 points.
