Bid to enhance pharmaceutical ties with Sudan 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Dr Ali Al-Ghamrawi, discussed in Cairo on Wednesday with Dr Wijdan Al-Fil, Director of Sudan’s National Council for Medicines and Toxins, ways to boost co-operation.

The meeting was held as part of Egypt’s marking EDA’s achievement of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Level 3 Maturity classification in the field of pharmaceutical regulation. 

Al-Fil’s visit underscores the strong and historic ties between the two countries across various sectors, particularly in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. It also highlights Cairo and Khartoum’s commitment to fostering bilateral cooperation between the regulatory bodies in both countries. 

Dr Al-Ghamrawi has overviewed EDA’s recent achievements, which have contributed to its advanced global standing, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships with Sudan, sharing expertise, and building capacities in the pharmaceutical and regulatory sectors to benefit both nations. 

Al-Fil has reiterated Sudan’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with EDA, utilizing Egypt’s successful experience in developing regulatory frameworks.

Al-Fil also praised the strong relationship between the two organizations and emphasized the shared vision of improving pharmaceutical systems and healthcare services for citizens in both countries.
