Air Cairo, the economic arm of Egypt’s civil aviation sector, has signed strategic agreements with leading aircraft manufacturers Airbus, Embraer, and ATR. These agreements aim to secure a global supply of spare parts, marking a significant milestone in enhancing maintenance efficiency, operational readiness, and customer satisfaction.

The company also achieved a major milestone by obtaining the ECAR Part 145 (Line Maintenance) certification from the Civil Aviation Authority, allowing it to perform in-house aircraft maintenance. This accomplishment reflects ongoing collaboration with its strategic partner, EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering.

Dr Sameh el-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, congratulated Air Cairo on this achievement, highlighting the company’s commitment to the highest standards of safety and quality. “This step, along with the strategic agreements with major aircraft manufacturers, represents a transformative move that will enhance Air Cairo’s regional and international competitiveness, supporting the ministry’s efforts to advance the civil aviation sector and contribute to sustainable development goals,” he said.

Pilot Ahmed Shennawy, Chairman of Air Cairo, expressed pride in the company’s accomplishments. He acknowledged the critical support from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority, and EgyptAir. Shennawy emphasised that the new agreements with major manufacturers would bolster operational efficiency and expand the company’s global network.

“We remain committed to developing infrastructure, training talent, and building effective partnerships to deliver high-quality services. This will further strengthen Egypt’s civil aviation sector both regionally and globally,” Shennawy added.
