The Egyptian Armed Forces dispatched medical and conscription committees to South Sinai, Minya and Gharbia governorates to help residents settle their conscription status, with a focus on people with disabilities and the elderly.
The initiative, launched by the Recruitment and Mobilisation Department of the Armed Forces’ Organisation and Administration Authority, coincides with celebrations marking the 53rd anniversary of the October War victory.
In South Sinai, medical and judicial committees worked for several days to issue exemption certificates, settle conscription status of elderly residents and provide the documents required for admission to universities and institutes.
People with disabilities underwent medical examinations at locations close to their homes, while those unable to travel received home visits. Eligible residents were also issued conscription certificates.
Similar medical committees were dispatched to Minya and Gharbia to settle conscription status for people with disabilities and issue the necessary certificates free of charge.
The initiative is part of the Armed Forces’ efforts to ease administrative procedures and provide support to elderly people and those with disabilities.
The ceremony was attended by head of the Recruitment and Mobilisation Department Major General Ahmed Mostafa Sadek, along with several governors, university presidents and media representatives.
