Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi inaugurated and inspected a number of development projects affiliated with the ministry in partnership with civil society organisations in the presence of the Minister of Local Development Manal Awad and the Governor of N. Sinai.

This came during a visit to North Sinai Governorate by Morsi, and Manal Awad on Sunday .

The high-level delegation, accompanied by Major General Khaled Megawer, Governor of North Sinai, commenced their tour by overseeing a comprehensive medical convoy in Rawda village.

The convoy, organised by Misr el-Kheir Foundation, aims to offer free medical services to over 400-500 beneficiaries across various specialties.

The ministers also visited the Youth City in Al-Arish, where they witnessed the distribution of winter aid packages for the elderly and participated in happiness convoys for children. These initiatives, carried out in collaboration with Misr el-Kheir Foundation, aimed to promote arts, culture, and community engagement among the younger generation.

The visit included the inauguration of five drinking water desalination stations in Sheikh Zuweid Centre. These stations, funded by the National Bank of Egypt, will provide clean drinking water to thousands of residents in the region.

Additionally, the ministers witnessed the signing of several co-operation protocols between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and civil society organisations to enhance early childhood development programmes in the governorate.

The visit concluded with an inspection of the Egyptian Red Crescent’s logistics centre in Dargham, Arish. This state-of-the-art facility, covering 10,000 square metres, is designed to facilitate the storage and distribution of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Minister Morsi expressed her satisfaction with the progress of development projects in North Sinai and reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the living standards of the region’s residents.
