Beltone’s Dalia Khorshid Among Forbes’ Top CEOs
Forbes Middle East has recognized Dalia Khorshid, CEO and Managing Director of Beltone Holding, as one of the region’s Top CEOs for 2024. Notably, she is the only Egyptian woman featured on this prestigious list.
Since taking the helm at Beltone Holding in 2022, Khorshid has significantly expanded the company’s operations, launching new business lines and investments, including Beltone Capital’s agricultural investment platform, NEPIT, and Beltone Venture Capital. Her leadership has been marked by strategic initiatives that emphasize sustainability and innovation.
In a groundbreaking move, Beltone Securities Brokerage, a subsidiary of Beltone Holding, facilitated Egypt’s inaugural carbon credit trade in August 2024. This transaction involved the Egyptian Biodynamic Association and Isis for Food Manufacturing, highlighting Khorshid’s commitment to environmentally responsible business practices. Additionally, in September 2024, Beltone Venture Capital invested in VelyVelo, a company providing optimized e-bike fleet management in France and Morocco, with future expansions planned for Spain and Belgium.
Beltone’s sustainability efforts are evident in their goal to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030, following the measurement of total emissions at 2,190 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent in 2023. That year also saw a partnership with Bekia Waste Management to recycle paper and plastics, with profits directed to charitable causes.
Forbes highlighted Khorshid’s remarkable achievement in doubling Beltone Holding’s revenues and assets within a short timeframe. Operating revenues surged by 812% to reach $27.7 million, while assets under management grew by 56%, totaling $612.5 million in the first quarter of 2024.
Khorshid’s extensive background includes serving as Egypt’s Minister of Investment and founding Masar Financial Consulting and Eagle Capital for Financial Investments. She has also held the position of Chairwoman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.
The Forbes list of powerful CEOs in the Middle East features 100 business leaders from 19 nationalities, with Emiratis leading with 27 representatives, followed by Egyptians with 21, and Saudis with 14. The banking sector dominates with 19 leaders, while the real estate sector accounts for 10.
CEOs were selected based on their influence, experience, and company performance over the past year. Dalia Khorshid’s impressive track record in various sectors, including banking and non-banking financial services, underscores her effectiveness in leading Beltone Holding.
Importantly, Khorshid stands out as the sole Egyptian woman on Forbes’ list of the most powerful CEOs in the Middle East for 2024, which includes a total of 21 women from diverse nationalities.
