CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Eldin Farouk and Belarusian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Terentiev discussed expanding cooperation between the two countries in livestock, agricultural mechanization, agricultural trade and applied research.
During their meeting, the minister voiced hope to boost agricultural cooperation with Belarus and increase Egyptian exports to the Eurasian Union, highlighting the strong demand for Egyptian products in the international market.
Talks covered many files of cooperation, including those of dairy products, localizing the animal feed additives industry in Egypt by drawing on the Belarusian technological expertise and agricultural machinery for smallholdings and family farms.
They also agreed to have technical experts from both sides draft a cooperation proposal, considering each party’s priorities.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the agriculture ministry and the Belarusian embassy in Cairo.
