Advisor to mufti of republic to MENA: Egypt always takes lead in raising global issues of key concern

CAIRO – Advisor to the Mufti of the Republic Ibrahim Najm says the political leadership plays a great role in renewing the religious discourse indicating that work will continue in this regard in partnership with all religious and fatwa institutions across the world, saying that Egypt always has the lead in raising issues that concerns the entire globe.In statements to MENA Wednesday the advisor to the mufti of the republic said, Egypt has a lot to offer, especially as related to the intellectual and religious fields, praising the political leadership’s support for all religious institutions, having in return a great impact on them.He pointed out that the 9th International Conference on Fatwa, entitled “Fatwa and Moral Building in an Accelerating World,” concluded its work Tuesday. It is a partnership and cooperation between fatwa institutions and the leadership of the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta and actual work has begun to implement the conference’s recommendations, he said.The advisor to the mufti of the republic also said, the conference was held with the participation of representatives of more than 100 countries as they met on a common agenda for cooperation and partnership, sending a strong message to the entire world pertaining to morals and ethics.Meantime, he said the Palestinian issue is still in the heart of all Egyptian, stressing that Egypt is the safety valve for the Palestinian cause and stands at the forefront of regional and international efforts demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire, with a view to preventing all Israeli attempts aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
