‘Gaza: Historical story of people’s struggle for legitimate rights’ 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy and Permanent Representative to the United Nations organisations in Rome Bassam Radi reviewed Egypt’s extraordinary efforts to deliver humanitarian, food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip to alleviate the severe human suffering of the Palestinian people since the start of the war.

Radi detailed the quantities and types of the relief aid that was received at Egypt’s el-Arish International Airport and Sea Port and the road leading to the Rafah border crossing prior to delivering it to the other side of the borders.

This came as Radi delivered Egypt’s speech late on Tuesday at an international conference organised by the World Food Programme (WFP) to discuss the humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza.

In comments on statements of various countries in the conference regarding the causes of the outbreak of the Gaza war, Radi stressed that the “issue is much deeper, as it dates back to the end of World War II, spanning for 75 years with no just and comprehensive solution.”

He described the developments taking place in Gaza as “a historical story of struggle by people demanding their legitimate rights to freedom, ending the occupation, establishing their state, and allowing their present and future generations to enjoy a normal life like all peoples around the glove.”
