United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk underlined the importance of ending violence in the Gaza Strip.
He made the remarks in press statements after a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit.
Türk said his visit to Egypt comes after a month of the war in Gaza, noting that he will visit Rafah crossing to stand on assistance access to the enclave.
The UN official said he will visit Jordan on Thursday to boost humanitarian efforts over the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Arab League Assistant Secretary General Haifa Abu Ghazaleh said Abul Gheit underlined the stands of Egypt and Jordan rejecting forced displacement of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
The talks also tackled the role of the UN Human Rights Commission to protect the Palestinians as well as preparations for the Global Refugee Forum 2023, slated for December, she said.
