CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation in South Sudan Manawa Peter said on Wednesday that the ongoing Cairo Water Week (CWW) provides an opportunity for interaction by experts.
He added during the general session of the event that participants can share expertise and different skills.
He pointed out that his country has been suffering from many challenges over the past three years especially from climate change and overpopulation.
He underlined the necessity of water regulation and management as a basic step for providing water security.
He added that 10 African countries are sharing the Nile water. This is why co-operation is very important among these countries to best use the Nile water, he pointed out.
He also underlined the necessity of providing infrastructure for storing water.
