CAIRO – Health and Population Minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar discussed with Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendy joint cooperation in the files of Egyptian doctors abroad and developing joint work mechanisms to implement their demands.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Health Ministry in New Alamein city, with the participation of a large number of Egyptian doctors abroad via video conference.
The virtual meeting falls within the framework of “An Hour with the Minister” initiative.
The health minister said his ministry will coordinate with the Emigration Ministry to benefit from the extensive expertise of the Egyptian doctors living abroad in the medical tourism domain.
They also discussed benefiting from the physicians in performing surgical operations in a number of specialties, along with cooperating in the interactive telemedicine system through diagnosis and determining appropriate treatment methods in different medical specialties.
“Telemedicine” is also known as synchronous video, live video-conferencing is a live, two-way interaction between a person and a healthcare provider using audiovisual telecommunications technology.
