Egypt’s Minister of State for Migration Affairs Soha el Gendi said coordination is going on with different Egyptian ministries and bodies on the axes and sessions of the fourth edition of the country’s expatriates conference, which will kick off on Monday.
In a statement, the minister said the political leadership is interested in engaging Egyptian expatriates in achieving sustainable development in the country.
Education will figure high on the agenda of the conference to be attended by more than 1,000 Egyptian nationals living in 56 countries, she said, adding that the conference sessions will tackle setting up an online portal for Egyptian expatriates that includes Egyptian curriculum, ways of linking between Egyptian scientists living abroad and young researchers at home and merging technological tools in curriculum.
Also the conference will tackle preparations for coming elections and expatriates’ role in this regard, political life in Egypt and youths’ representation in parties, parliament and executive apparatus of the State.
The conference will discuss the role of Egyptian embassies and consulates in serving Egyptian expatriates, conscription settlement, the performance of Egyptian economy, the State’s banking and monetary policies, initiative to exempt imported cars from customs, available investment opportunities and setting up a shareholding company for Egyptian expats’ investments.
