President commends Kenya’s vital role in enhancing stability in Africa

LUSAKA- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Thursday with his Kenyan counterpart William Samoei Ruto on the fringe of COMESA Summit, currently held in the Zambian capital.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said President Sisi praised Kenya’s vital role in enhancing security and stability in Africa, asserting the depth of historic ties binding the two countries.
Sisi asserted Egypt’s keenness on beefing up ties with Kenya in all fields especially trade, along with pumping Egyptian investments into Kenya’s vital sector to support its development plans.
Ruto, for his part, reiterated the depth of ties binding the two countries and said his country is looking forward to promoting bilateral ties with Egypt in all fields especially the economic one.
He also praised the activities of the Egyptian companies in Kenya and their contribution to development efforts in his country.
The spokesman said that the two presidents’ talks covered means of buttressing bilateral ties along with the latest developments in Africa, adding that the two presidents shared viewpoints as regards various political files and underlined the importance of enhancing integration among the African states especially in the economic, trade fields and development of infrastructure.
Talks also covered Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam, means of bolstering cooperation among the Nile basin countries with the aim of achieving development plans in a way that guarantees the best interests of all parties without harming any side, added the spokesman.
