CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of International Co-operation Rania al- Mashat had talks with Mohammad A. Abunayyan, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi company ACWA Power, and CEO Marco Arcelli on means of boosting the company’s investments in Egypt, especially in the fields of renewable energy, water desalination and green hydrogen.
She underlined the government’s keenness on effective participation of the private sector in the development process through implementing projects in various domains.
The meeting falls within the framework of annual meetings of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Uzbekistan.
The company’s officials hailed the efforts exerted by the International Cooperation Ministry to encourage the private sector’s contribution to the development process and boost investments in the field of renewable energy through engaging with development partners, especially under the Nexus, Water, Food and Energy (NWFE) platform.
They said the company seeks to expand its investments in Egypt via implementing renewable energy projects as well as ventures of green hydrogen production and water desalination, thus pushing forward Egypt’s development efforts.
