The National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW) launched on Sunday the 21st batch of Cover and Wellness convoys to rural areas in Sharkiya Governorate. Around 20 entities of the NACDW are taking part in the move to provide services to more than 30,000 beneficiaries.
The step came in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directives to support the most deserving and vulnerable groups. These initiatives were launched in line with NACDW efforts to support the neediest families nationwide, reduce the negative effects of the global economic crisis, and to contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development in all fields in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The NACDW was established in March 2022 when 24 civil associations signed its charter.
By the end of the 2022, the alliance represented 30,000 associations to achieve sustainable development, economic empowerment and social protection.
The alliance provides beneficiaries with regular financial support, particularly those affected by economic recession.
The alliance delivers food parcels, food for convoys and school meals nationwide, and gave small and medium enterprises (SMEs) non-refundable grants totalling LE1.1 billion last year.
The NACDW has launched several initiatives during the past few time, including ‘Cover and Wellness’ and ‘The Goodness Train’.
President Sisi has directed the authorities concerned to work on providing more support for citizens amid the ongoing global crises.
The president called on NACDW and other civil society organisations to intensify their efforts during 2023.
He underlined that NACDW has announced a package of LE14 billion to the charity work, calling on Tahya Misr Fund to contribute.
