WASHINGTON – US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Affairs Celeste Wallander met with Kenya Cabinet Secretary of Defense Eugene Wamalwa and Kenya Chief of Defense General Robert Kibochi in the US–Kenya Bilateral Defense Forum in the Pentagon, according to a press statement of the Pentagon.
The talks reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral defense co-operation between the US Department of Defense and the Kenya Ministry of Defense and the Kenya Defense Forces.
The two sides discussed a range of topics including regional security; cybersecurity; security co-operation; US Africa Command mission; Massachusetts National Guard accomplishments and future plans; and climate change.
Both the US Department of Defense and the Kenya Ministry of Defense and the Kenya Defense Forces intend to continue the strong partnership including the next iteration of the US–Kenya Bilateral Defense Forum.
