WASHINGTON – US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke by phone Saturday with Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov to discuss Russia’s brutal air attacks on Ukraine and the latest situation on the ground.
Austin reiterated that the commitment of the United States and our coalition of some 50 Allies and partners to supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression will remain steadfast, according to a statement by Pentagon.
