US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Iran’s proposed guarantees on a 20-year moratorium on uranium enrichment are “not enough,” following Iran’s statement that the two sides decided to postpone negotiations on the country’s nuclear program.
He added that he “doesn’t mind” the moratorium, but that it must be backed up by “real” commitments from Tehran and reiterated that Iran “will never have a nuclear weapon.”
Trump told reporters that he agreed to a ceasefire with Iran in April “as a favor to other nations” and repeated his claim that the US has achieved a “total military victory.” He warned that the US military can still target Iranian infrastructure, such as bridges and electrical facilities, if negotiations fail.
