President Donald Trump said early Tuesday that the pilots of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter that went down near the Strait of Hormuz “are fine.”
Speaking on the runway at John F. Kennedy International Airport before heading back to Washington, D.C., Trump said that “nobody was injured.”
He added that the administration would release a report later on Tuesday.
The New York Times reported Monday night that a U.S. Army Apache gunship went down near the Strait of Hormuz and that its two crew members were safely rescued, according to two people briefed on the incident.
