GAZA – A temporary humanitarian truce between the Palestinian factions and Israel in the Gaza Strip comes into effect at 7:00 am (local time) on Friday.
Under the terms of the deal that was brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, Israel’s warplanes will fully stop flying over southern Gaza during the four-day truce and for six hours daily, starting from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, in Gaza city and the north.
Under the swap deal, three Palestinians, including women and children, who are imprisoned in Israel, will be released in exchange for one Israeli captive.
Also, 50 Israeli women and children under the age of 19 will be freed during the four-day ceasefire.
The two sides also agreed on allowing 200 trucks loaded with humanitarian, relief and medical aid, as well as four fuel trucks and cooking gas to daily enter all areas of the Gaza Strip during the humanitarian truce.
