RAMALLAH – Scores of settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday under the protection of Israeli forces.
The settlers broke into the Mosque’s compound from Bab al-Maghariba ‘s Gate, carried out provocative tours in the Mosque’s yards and performed Talmudic rituals, eyewitnesses said.
Israeli forces deployed at the gates of the Old Town and the Mosque’s compound prevented citizens from entering the Mosque, causing a decline in the number of worshippers.
Al Aqsa Mosque is subject to daily attacks by settlers in an attempt to exercise full control on the Mosque and divide it in terms of time and space.
