KYIV- Russia has already lost about 147,470 troops in Ukraine, including over 650 troops over the past day, Ukrinform reported Saturday.

According to a statement made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, between February 24, 2022 and February 25, 2023, Russia’s total combat losses included 3,375 tanks 6,609 armored fighting vehicles, 2,373 artillery systems, 475 multiple launch rocket systems, 247 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 299 aircraft, 288 helicopters.

Russia also lost 5,235 motor vehicles and fuel tanks, 18 warships/boats, 2,035 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 230 special equipment units, while a total of 873 Russian cruise missiles were shot down.

Meanwhile, as many as 461 children were killed and 927 injured since the launch of the Russian military operation in Ukraine last February, according to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office.

“As of the morning of February 25, 2023, more than 1,388 children were killed and injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 461 children were killed and 927 children received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the office revealed in a statement.

Most children were killed and injured in Donetsk region – 445, Kharkiv region –272, Kyiv region – 123, the office said, noting that the numbers are not final as efforts are ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of hostilities, in temporarily captured and liberated territories.

A year into the war, the Russian armed forces damaged 3,126 educational institutions in Ukraine with massive bombings and shelling; 438 institutions were completely destroyed, said the Ukrainian prosecutor general.
