Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s ongoing support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The remarks came during a meeting in Ramallah with Egypt’s Ambassador to Palestine, Ehab Suleiman, held as part of a gathering with several Arab ambassadors accredited to the State of Palestine, the Middle East News Agency reported.

During the meeting, President Abbas conveyed his greetings to President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi, and extended his appreciation to the leaders of Arab countries for their continued backing of the Palestinian cause and their support for the Palestinian people.

President Abbas also briefed the diplomats on the latest developments in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, stressing the importance of strengthening joint Arab coordination to support the Palestinian position and to advance efforts toward a just and comprehensive peace based on the two‑state solution.

He highlighted the growing challenges facing Arab countries and peoples, particularly amid the sensitive circumstances affecting the region.

For his part, Ambassador Suleiman outlined the impact of regional escalation on the situation in Palestine and the broader Middle East. He reaffirmed Egypt’s condemnation of any attacks targeting Arab states and underscored Cairo’s commitment to diplomatic and political efforts aimed at de‑escalation.

The ambassador also emphasized the need to ensure the continued flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, where humanitarian conditions have sharply deteriorated. He reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of Israeli violations in the West Bank, including recent decisions related to land confiscation and settlement expansion.
