NEW YORK – Pakistan has reiterated its strong support for a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned political process, describing it as the only viable pathway to achieving lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in Libya, Radio Pakistan reported.
The country’s position was outlined by Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Usman Jadoon, during a UN Security Council briefing on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
Mr Jadoon expressed hope that recent consultations on electoral arrangements, alongside recommendations emerging from the Structured Dialogue process, would help build consensus, advance institutional reunification, and support national reconciliation.
