Electrolux Group, one of the leading global Swedish home appliance manufacturers, participated in the celebrations of Sweden’s National Day, which were organised by the Swedish Embassy in Cairo under the theme “Midsummer”. The event was attended by senior officials, diplomats, representatives from the business community, and public figures, in support of economic and cultural relations between Egypt and Sweden.
Electrolux Group’s participation this year aimed to highlight its prominent role in delivering innovative home appliances that meet the aspirations of customers in the Egyptian market, and showcases its ongoing efforts to implement responsible manufacturing practices within its local factories. These practices align with sustainable development standards and support initiatives to optimise energy consumption, enhance efficiency, and protect the environment priorities that are central to the shared vision between Egypt and Sweden.
Maissam Hannawi, Managing Director in Electrolux Group Egypt, said: “Sweden’s National Day celebrations provide a valuable strategic platform to reaffirm the depth and strength of the economic relationship between Egypt and Sweden, while highlighting the important role industrial companies play in driving economic growth and advancing industrial development.”
He added: “The Egyptian market represents one of Electrolux Group’s most important strategic hubs in the Middle East and Africa, particularly in light of the rapid development and growth taking place across the industrial sector. Against this backdrop, we continue to invest in innovation and the development of smart solutions that meet consumer expectations and promote the responsible use of resources. At the same time, we are advancing sustainable manufacturing practices and operational excellence across our facilities in Egypt, which have become a key regional production and export hub, reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting local manufacturing, improving energy efficiency, and reducing environmental impact.”
The event also served as a strategic opportunity for Electrolux Group to engage with government entities, policymakers, media representatives, and stakeholders from the environmental sector, where the company showcased its latest products aimed at improving energy and water consumption efficiency.
It is worth noting that Electrolux Group is the parent company of the Zanussi and Olympic brand names in addition to a portfolio of global leading brands. The group has been present in the Egyptian market since 2011, becoming one of the most prominent Swedish investments in the engineering industries sector. Electrolux also exports its Egypt-made products to numerous regional and global markets.
