Moscow will host the third Russia-Africa Summit and the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum for two days in a row as of Wednesday, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and African leaders, with a view to strengthening strategic partnership between Russia and African countries, expand economic and humanitarian ties and advance joint initiatives in an emerging multipolar world.
Expected outcomes of the summit include the adoption of a joint declaration, the development of a new action plan for the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum for 2027-2029, and the signing of a number of intergovernmental documents and commercial contracts.
The Russia-Africa Summit is the most prominent and largest event in the course of Russian-African relations, aimed at elevating the mutually beneficial partnership to a new and substantive level to address the challenges of the 21st century.
The summit seeks to strengthen comprehensive and equal co-operation between Russia and African countries across all areas, including politics, security, economic relations, science and technology, and cultural and humanitarian affairs.
The business programme of the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum will cover four main tracks: “Sovereignty as the Foundation of Sustainable Development,” “The Economy of a Sovereign World Order,” “Social and Humanitarian Co-operation and Human Capital,” and “Technology and Innovation for Improving Quality of Life.”
Panel discussions and specialised events will address key issues in cooperation between Russia and African countries, including trade, investment, industry, technology transfer, food and energy security, digital transformation, healthcare, education, science, media, and youth exchanges.
The Russia-Africa Youth Forum will also be held on October 28 and 29 as part of the third Russia-Africa Summit. The forum is a unique platform for strengthening co-operation between Russia and African countries, consolidating positive momentum in their multifaceted partnership, and identifying prospects for its development in the coming years.
The forum’s activities also seek to encourage dialogue between Russian and African youth, support African studies, and promote a positive image of Russia across the African continent.
The programme will bring together Russian and African officials, prominent representatives of the business community and expert circles, development institutions, and media organisations.
