GAZA CITY – Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted several residential neighborhoods in the cities of Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis in the central and southern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
Israeli fighter jets unleashed multiple airstrikes targeting entire residential neighborhoods in the Al-Qarara area, northeast of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip. The strikes resulted in dozens of causalities and massive destruction, WAFA news agency reported.
In the southern region of the Strip, medical sources reported that occupation military tanks deliberately destroyed and blew up several homes in the Al-Qarara area, northeast of Khan Yunis city.
Israeli warplanes unleashed intense bombardment and artillery shelling north of Hamad Town in Khan Yunis, causing significant damage.
Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets further carried out airstrikes targeting civilian homes in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
According to local health authorities, the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since early October 2023 has so far resulted in over 31,112 reported fatalities, most of whom are children and women, with an additional 72,760 documented injuries.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that Israel deliberately thwarts any efforts to protect civilians and bring in aid into the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry warned of the consequences of the continued failure of the international community and the Security Council in stopping the war of genocide waged against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the occupied territories.
The Ministry called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in translating UN Resolution 2720 into binding procedures and measures that force the occupying state to implement all its provisions, and implement the preliminary precautionary order of the International Court of Justice before it is “too late.”
