Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Wednesday that it had attacked a US military base in Jordan’s Al Azraq with ballistic missiles, Iranian media reported.
The IRGC said the strike was carried out in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian oil tankers.
Jordan’s army said it intercepted and destroyed 18 missiles launched from Iran, while two others fell in unpopulated areas.
“Jordan was subjected to a missile attack originating from Iran,” the army said in a statement, adding that monitoring and assessment of the attack were ongoing.
