Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League Haifaa Abu Ghazaleh said on Thursday that a high-level delegation representing the pan-Arab body will head for Rafah crossing on Friday to deliver the humanitarian assistance sent by the Arab Health and Social Affairs Ministers Council to the Gaza Strip.
In press statements, the diplomat expressed thanks to Social Solidarity Minister and permanent member of the executive office of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council Nevine Qabbag for her efforts to deliver this aid to the coastal enclave.
She also lauded the important role played by the Egyptian Red Crescent in preparing humanitarian aid convoys over the clock to deliver them to the under-war Gaza Strip.
She also thanked Health and Population Minister and head of the executive office of the Health Ministers Council Khaled Abdel Ghaffar for his efforts to offer medical assistance to families of the Strip.
The delegation is expected to visit injured Palestinians who are being treated at Arish Hospital.
She expressed regret over what is taking place in the Gaza strip, saying it is an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
She underlined the importance of continuing aid delivery to the Gaza Strip, saying life is almost at a standstill there.
The Arab League official called for respecting human rights principles stipulated in the international law and the international humanitarian law.
