The extraordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of permanent representatives started on Thursday under Yemen in presence of Assistant Arab League Secretary General Hossam Zaki to discuss the Arab action for solidarity with Lebanon and dealing with the serious repercussions of the Israeli aggression.
The meeting started with a minute of mourning on the martyrs of Palestine and Lebanon.
The meeting is held at a request from Iraq which was welcomed by a big number of Arab countries.
Earlier, Iraq called for holding an extraordinary session to discuss the Israeli military escalation against Lebanon and the humanitarian repercussions and means of helping the displaced and refugees in addition to delivering the medical and food aid supplies to those affected in Lebanon.
The meeting also aims at urging the international community to side with Lebanon.
