ADDIS ABABA- The African Union (AU) on Sunday expressed concern over the ongoing clashes between Sudan’s armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) which inflicted casualties on civilians, including foreign aid workers along side destroying property.
”The deadly clashes between the military and the RSF have turned volatile and likely to turn into a complete conflict,” said AU Peace and Security Council (PSC) in a statement received by MENA.
The council called on the warring parties to adopt an unconditional ceasefire, in order to avoid further bloodshed and jeopardization of innocent civilians.
Also, it urged the military and paramilitary force to opt for a peaceful solution through comprehensive dialogue.
The council, meanwhile, expressed rejection of any forms of foreign interference that may complicate the evolving situation in the African country.
