Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Assoumi had talks with Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani on means of organising parliamentary forums supporting issues of Arab, Islamic and developing nations.
Assoumi said the Arab Parliament is ready to be a partners in organising these forums.
The meeting was held on Wednesday on the fringe of the 144th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union which is held in Bali.
Assoumi hailed Indonesia’s good organisation of the event, highlighting the importance of enhancing institutional ties between the Arab Parliament and the Indonesian House of Representatives.
He also underlined the importance of enhancing Arab-Asian relations at the parliamentary level.
For her part, Maharani said Indonesia had strong ties with all Arab countries in various domains, referring to cooperation agreements with Arab parliaments.
