CAIRO – Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki asserted the importance of halting armed clashes in Sudan to protect security and safety of the Sudanese people, their gains and unity and sovereignty of their territories as well as protecting Sudanese national institutions.
In his speech, on behalf of AL Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, during his participation in the 42nd ExtraOrdinary Session of the IGAD held in Uganda, he reiterated the AL rejection to any foreign intervention in Sudan’s internal affairs.
He also stressed according to MENA that the importance of launching an inclusive Sudanese political route that aims at forming a transitional government with certain missions, underlining the importance of engaging Sudan in any regional or international initiatives.
