CAIRO – Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit asserted diplomacy is a key tool to solve problems and negotiations to reach solutions.
The AL chief’s remark came in a word to the opening session of the high-level international conference for science diplomacy, that was held in the premises of the General Secretariat of the AL on Wednesday.
Abul Gheit said that diplomacy is the way to solve all problems. However, the problems are changing and thus the diplomacy always needs a development of tools.
The role of diplomacy is expanding to include new domains such as environment, climate change and sustainable development, he added.
Abul Gheit confirmed the pan-Arab organisation believes in the importance of boosting relations with countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region to make more successful partnerships in the diplomatic field.
