Transmar has announced a major expansion of its shipping line services, connecting Jeddah to Djibouti. The announcement marks the company’s third new destination in the last six months. The move strengthens the company’s position as a leading regional container line, covering all the Red Sea’s main ports, solidifying Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s status as primary regional exporters and suppliers to the MEA region.

‏Discussing the value of the new route, Ahmed El Ahwal, Commercial Manager for Transmar (an IACC Holdings Company), said “This development reinforces Transmar’s mission to connect and facilitate trade and serve the region’s largest businesses and economies. Connecting Jeddah to Djibouti is an important step in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical exports in the region, setting the Kingdom at the forefront of the regional supply chain.”

‏Adding to his comments, Mohamed Salah, Transmar Country Manager in Saudi Arabia said “We are incredibly proud to deploy this new service to Djibouti. Our new weekly service connecting Jeddah to Djibouti is designed to cater to Saudi Arabia’s growing petrochemical industry, which we have been proudly serving for over three decades.”

‏The addition of Djibouti marks Transmar’s third expansion since the beginning of the year along with Aqaba in Jordan and Ain Sokhna in Egypt. To complement this growth, Transmar has invested in over 4000 new containers in 2021 to reach a fleet size of 16000 containers.

‏”Transmar is committed to facilitate and strengthen trade within the region, resulting in a reliable and resilient supply chain. We believe this falls in line with both Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and we are excited to be a part of the economic growth and development of both countries, as we have been for over 4 decades. ,” Mr. Ahmed El Ahwal concluded.
