talabat, the region’s leading food and grocery delivery app, has announced a strategic partnership with Misr El Kheir (MEK) Foundation as their first on-app donations partner in Egypt. The on-boarding of MEK Foundation to the talabat app took place a few days before Ramadan 2021, allowing the customers of the app to give back to families in need here in Egypt.
In the spirit of giving back to those in need during Ramadan, talabat Egypt will also be part of a region-wide campaign, #AlwaysThere, where the app will help fight hunger in the Middle East. The #AlwaysThere initiative will take place every Sunday during Iftar in the holy month of Ramadan. This means that with every food order placed in its app during the iftar period, talabat will donate the value of one meal to the United Nations World Food Programme, the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger and the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.
Hadeer Shalaby, Managing Director of Talabat Egypt says: “We are very proud to enhance our customers’ experience through adding in-app donations to Misr El Kheir and help them make a difference in our local Egyptian community. MEK is an organisation with a successful history of enhancing the lives of those in need and we definitely look forward to advancing our partnership with them in the coming years.”
