Silicon Waha for Technology Zones hosted the finals and closing ceremony of the fifth session of the Egypt Challenge for the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence 2021, which was held between September 23 to 25, 2021 in the technology zone in Burj Al Arab, and included projects for high school students and others for university students and startups.
The challenge aims to build capacity and pre-incubate, and targets high school and final year undergraduate students across the country, and startups that have innovative ideas and projects in the field of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and related fields. The challenge has succeeded in providing an opportunity for more than 200 teams within high school students and more than 200 teams within the scope of university students along with more than twenty start-up companies to provide outstanding creative ideas.
Mr Hashem Mansi, CEO of Silicon Waha, stressed that holding the finals of the challenge in the technology zone in Burj Al Arab reflects confidence in the capabilities of the technological zones and their distinguished infrastructure, and confidence in the important role that these zones play in incubating innovators and entrepreneurs, which was the main objective. The reason behind its establishment is to provide a suitable business environment for the emergence of creative thought, whether from school and university students or entrepreneurs, in order to establish a better future for all groups.
