Talaat underlined that the meeting reflects the great importance that the political leadership in the two countries attach to co-operation on different levels. He said that he looks forward to a successful partnership between the two countries in ICT.

In addition, Talaat presented the Digital Egypt strategy and the country’s achievements in bringing about digital transformation, forming a participatory government, upgrading the information infrastructure, and leveraging the international submarine cables running across Egypt. He shed light on the breakthrough that Egypt made in capacity building, technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

The meeting discussed Egypt’s mobile phone manufacturing capabilities and the possibility of exporting such products to the Yemeni market, in addition to providing consultation and technical support in installing fiber optic cables.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Yemeni minister took a tour inside Smart Village to explore closely the ICT projects it hosts.
