Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel-Latif attended on Monday the launch of the fifth edition of “EduTech 2026”.

The three-day event, held under the theme “From Dialogue to Implementation: Building an Ecosystem for Artificial Intelligence, Skills, and Global Mobility.”

In opening remarks, Abdel-Latif stressed the need to prepare students for future jobs, noting that education systems must quickly adapt to rapid technological changes and shifting labour market demands.

He said the world is undergoing major transformations, making it essential for education to become more flexible and closely linked to real economic needs.

Abdel-Latif highlighted that technical and vocational education is now a strategic priority rather than an alternative path.

He noted that Egypt is focusing on improving both the quality of education and its alignment with job market requirements under Egypt’s Vision 2030.

He added that the ministry is expanding applied technology schools in partnership with the industrial sector to provide practical, job-oriented education. Efforts are also underway to integrate key future skills such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving, while strengthening international partnerships to enhance graduates’ competitiveness.

For his part, Head of the conference organising committee, Ali Shams, said the forum reflects a shift from discussing ideas to implementing practical solutions.

The event aims to strengthen links between education and the labour market, improve the image of technical education, and support national development goals, he added.
