Minister of Military Production, Salah Suleiman Gomblat, and the international renewable energy expert Hani Al-Naqrashi have discussed co-operation on localising the manufacturing of solar thermal power plant components in Egypt.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s training sector in Salam City, reviewed the latest global technologies used in manufacturing solar thermal power plant components and explored the possibility of transferring and localising these technologies within companies affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production.
During the meeting, Gomblat stressed that the clean and renewable energy sector is gaining increasing importance as one of the key sectors supporting the national economy.
The ministry is keen to establish strategic partnerships with leading local and international experts in renewable energy and other industries, he said.
The move comes in line with state directives to localise advanced technologies in strategic industries, expand the use of clean energy sources, and support sustainable development and energy security goals, he added.
The ministry is hard at work to maximise the use of production capacities, technological capabilities, and expertise available at its affiliated companies to contribute to national development projects.
For his part, Al-Naqrashi lauded the ministry’s industrial and technological capabilities, forming a key national industrial institution.
