CAIRO – Egyptian Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat asserted the importance of digital transformation and innovation to face changes witnessed by the whole world.
This came during his participation in a ministerial discussion session within the Strategic Innovation for Structural Transformation Conference organized by the United Nations Development Programme in Egypt in cooperation with Egypt’s International Cooperation Ministry.
The conference was also attended by International Cooperation Minister Rania Mashat, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Alessandro Fracassetti and others.
During the session, Talaat added that his ministry had established a practical innovation center in 2019 to reach solutions that focus on modern technologies to face societal challenges in all fields including water resources management, agriculture and health care.
The minister also pointed out to the importance of providing data to enable decision-makers to take more precise decisions.
He also noted that the whole world is now tending to strategic innovation and using communications and information technology in order to reach its goals.
