Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a season-long loan deal with Manchester City for Egypt forward Omar Marmoush, with an obligation to buy for £60 million ($82 million) next year, according to British media on Wednesday.

Both Sky Sports and the Press Association said Marmoush was set to undergo a medical at Spurs before completing the move.

Marmoush is now on course to become Tottenham’s second signing from City in a matter of days after Brazil winger Savio joined Tuesday for a reported initial fee of £75 million.

Tottenham’s overall outlay in the summer transfer window now stands at beyond £300 million, with Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi all having joined the north London club before the arrival of Savinho, who now wishes to be known as Savio.

But despite the influx of new players, Spurs started their Premier League season with a woeful 3-0 loss away to Brentford last weekend.
Should Spurs sign Marmoush for £60 million, that would enable City to recoup the £59 million fee they paid to buy him from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025.

The 27-year-old scored 16 goals in 62 games for City but Marmoush’s time at the Etihad has been spent mainly as a back-up to Erling Haaland.

Marmoush was an unused substitute in Sunday’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth, with his last outing for the club having come in the Community Shield a week earlier.

City have seen several players leave following the exit of manager Pep Guardiola at the end of last season, with Rodri, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Tijjani Reijnders, Nathan Ake and James Trafford all bidding farewell to the Etihad.
