Al Ahly’s football first team lost to Smouha SC 3-2 in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday night at Alexandria Stadium.
The Red Eagles tried to equalise the score in the final minutes of the game, but they were unlucky to convert their chances into the net, according to alahlyegypt.com.
The First Half
The Red Eagles didn’t wait for long to create their first clear chance in the game.
In the 6th minute, Taher sent a brilliant pass to Hany, who sent a ground pass to Sherif. Not thinking twice, Sherif shot the ball from the first time but it went over the bar.
Two minutes later, Marwan Hamdy gave the lead to Smouha.
In the 17th minute, Sherif sent an amazing ground cross to Salah Mohsen, who wasn’t able to tap the ball into the net.
They came close to equalising the score five minutes later with another chance from Sherif, but his shot went to next to the post.
In the 45th minute, Abdelkabir El Ouady doubled the score for the hosts.
The Second Half
Sami Komsan used his bench at the start of the second half, when he replaced Ramy Rabia with Hussein el-Shahat.
A few moments later, Marwan Hamdy scored the third goal for Smouha.
In the 59th minute, Hossam Hassan and Ziad Tarek replaced Salah Mohsen and Ali Maaloul.
Nine minutes later, Walid Soliman entered the pitch instead of Ahmed Nabil “Koka”.
In the 75th minute, Hamdy Fathy replaced Aliou Dieng.
In the 94th minute, Hassan scored Al-Ahly second goal in the game after receiving a cross from Walid Soliman.
The defeat meant that Al Ahly are now seven points behind league leaders Zamalek, who earned a vital 3-2 win over Ceramica Cleopatra on Tuesday.
