Trabzonspor defeated Galatasaray 4-0 in a Super Lig sixth-week fixture, with forward Mohamed Salah scoring three goals and setting up a fourth in his first derby appearance in Türkiye.

The 34-year-old Egyptian opened the scoring in the fourth minute and closed it in the 80th, finishing the match with three goals and an assist against the league’s front-runners.

Trabzonspor took the lead just four minutes into the match. After Galatasaray sent a throw-in into the Trabzonspor penalty area, the ball fell to Mustafa Eskihellac at the edge of the box.

Eskihellac found Salah with a first-time pass, and the forward ran into space behind the Galatasaray defense before beating goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir to make it 1-0.

According to broadcast data, Salah covered 85 meters before scoring. The goal was his fourth league goal of the season and his first in a derby since arriving in Türkiye.

Trabzonspor extended their lead in the 39th minute. Following a quickly taken free kick by Fabinho, Salah received the ball and redirected it to Noah Saviolo on the left flank. Saviolo finished with a placed shot into the far corner, making it 2-0.

Salah added Trabzonspor’s third goal just before halftime. In the 44th minute, he received a pass from Franculino Dju inside the penalty area and scored with a first-time finish, sending the teams into the break with Trabzonspor leading 3-0.

Salah put the result beyond doubt in the 80th minute, converting a pass from substitute Ozan Tufan to make it 4-0 and complete his hat-trick. The goal raised his league total to six for the season.

Galatasaray’s night worsened in the closing stages when midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu was sent off in the 87th minute.

Yellow cards were also shown to Trabzonspor’s Ernest Muci (48th minute), Stefan Savic (71st), goalkeeper Andre Onana and Salah himself (both in the 82nd minute), and to Galatasaray’s Leroy Sane in second-half stoppage time. Salah was substituted in the 89th minute, replaced by Aral Simsir.
